Jordan High School


  • Nearly 100 Measure K projects are currently in planning, design or construction stages.

  • On any given day, as many as 200 construction workers are onsite for the McBride High School building project.

  • Measure K funds can only be used for facilities renovations and building, not for school district operations or salaries.

  • A hiring expo is set for March 28 to encourage hiring of local businesses and individuals for Measure K construction projects. For information visit our information page.

  • Eighty percent of Long Beach USD schools are more than 40 years old and in need of renovation or repair.

  • Plans are underway to provide wireless technology and new telephone systems to all schools in the district.

to Jordan High Renovations

Iteris, Inc. The renovation of Jordan High School involves more than modernizing old buildings. Access to and from campus must be considered during renovation. Working out of the Iteris firm's Long Beach offices,Gary Hamrick, vice president for Western Region Planning, heads a team that will examine existing traffic and more. Read more...

The outdoor pool project at Cabrillo High School is well underway, with ground improvements and preparations complete. The next step is to pour concrete for the 40-meter pool and build the surrounding bleachers, restrooms, lockers and concessions areas. Completion is expected by this fall.
All buildings have been demolished at Newcomb
K-8 Academy
and work is underway to prepare the site for buidling foundations. The rebuilt campus is expected to open in fall 2015.
Roosevelt Elementary's rebuilding is slated to begin this spring, now that the old buildings and portables have been demolished and hauled away. The new campus will have all permanent buildings and feature a larger playground space.
